Welcome to my love of all things quirky! My blog is my creative outlet for all those thoughts and ramblings that spring into my mind on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Here you’ll find snippets of the weird and wonderful designers and compositions that inspire me, my latest photomontages and custom made art, comments from customers, and musings about life in general. Sit back, relax and thanks for reading!

Ahhhh, the sun is once again shining into my office, it’s all going to be ok! Don’t worry, I’m not blogging about the weather, nope today I thought I’d share the pages inside Your Home magazine that show off our home in all it’s technicolor glory. I say show-off, but I’m not a show-off kind of person, I guess I want to bring the pages to life and tell you a bit more about our home… I think it’s fair to say what you see on the outside […] Continue reading →

Pink Blue & You in Your Home magazine

Back in March the sun shone, just for one day, on our house in Cirencester in more ways than one! I had responded to a journalists request for ‘beautiful homes’ to feature in interiors magazines, and being a dedicated fan of such magazines I thought I’d give it a go. Our house isn’t what you’d call stereotypically beautiful, but the colours, design features and contemporary style make it stand out from the crowd. Read my blog post from the day of the photoshoot […] Continue reading →

House rabbit reading a book

Rabbits are cute furry pets that live in a hutch in the garden aren’t they? They hop about nibbling the plants and flowers, and you take them out for a stroke and a cuddle (no doubt when it’s sunny as opposed to when it’s cold and wet). You can probably tell I don’t have a rabbit, I’m a dog lover and, although we considered keeping Humphrey outside, the main reason for us to have a pet was for cuddles, company and amusement. However I recently met someone who […] Continue reading →

Last week I shared my Easter holiday news, including a photo of a beautiful array of flowers in a front garden in Seaton, East Devon. The only trouble was I couldn’t identify these Spring flowers! So I consulted my Mother-in-law who knows a lot about flowers, and after consulting her books and Google she thinks they are Anemone blanda: I also asked Louise who has a rather famous blog in the gardening world called Welly Woman: A life in wellies and although she’s not seen them […] Continue reading →

Yesterday I felt like a proper designer, joining fellow local designers at an event at The Cheltenham Design Festival. This is the festival’s 2nd year, with a very impressive programme of seminars, workshops and lectures from some of the UK’s top designers and creative directors. I went last year (read my blog post about it here) and came away buzzing, as I was reminded today it’s so important to have external influences to open your mind and better your work. Sat left to […] Continue reading →

Soup, chocolate and wooly hats. Chocolate, soup and wooly hats. It’s April and I am mostly wearing my wooly hat eating chocolate and soup. You too? I know I’m not alone, John Lewis are still selling hats and gloves at full price, and there’s fresh soup on our supermarket shelves to feed demand.  As for chocolate I don’t need to say anything do I? But April sounds like such a pretty month when you say it, it’s not bitter and cold, it’s too delicate and […] Continue reading →

Maundy Thursday evening in the Easter holidays, I’m sitting on my sofa with my feet under my daughters’ blanket, editing the photos for a photomontage of a gorgeous family. And I’m happy, I’m very happy! For several reasons; it’s the school holidays so my work time is squeezed into a few hours here and there often in the evenings, so when I’m immersed in my design time I feel as though I’m in my world. I’ve also had some truly heartfelt […] Continue reading →

Tomorrow I have a journalist and a photographer coming to my house for a photo shoot for Your Home Magazine. How you ask did I manage to organise that? Well as they say it’s not what you know but who you know, and luckily I have some well-connected friends… Kate put me in touch with Sarah who is a PR Consultant. In order to promote Pink Blue & You and my photomontages Sarah suggested I respond to a journalists request for beautiful homes. So I did, and the journalist loved […] Continue reading →

I don’t usually blog about parenting things, but thinking with my Mumsnet bloggers hat on I wanted to share my experience with you. We’ve just had half term here in Gloucestershire, and for once I decided not to cram in a 2-day trip to the seaside, not to plan lots of activities and most importantly, not to expect too much of my children. I also decided that I needed to make more of an effort not to work all the time (while they watch CBeebies interspersed with Chitty Chitty […] Continue reading →
